Land Value Capture and the Liverpool to Parramatta Transitway
Professor Mulley had been investigating the way in which the transitway, opened in 2003, has increased land values of residential properties. The first of a number of papers 'Accessibility and residual land value uplift: identifying spatial variations in the accessibility impacts of a bus transitway' (Densmore and Mulley) is available as an ITLS Working Paper. Multiple purposes at single destination: A key to a better understanding of the relationship between tour complexity and mode choice
A better understanding of the trips that residents make is key to policies to increase public transport mode share. An ITLS Working paper by Chinh Ho and Corinne Mulley looks at public transport tours from the Bureau of Transport Statistics Household Travel Survey.
Professor Stephen Ison, Visiting professor from Loughborough University UK
Professor Stephen Ison visited ITLS for one month. He gave a seminar on Road pricing and workplace parking charges: the issue of implementation and has been working with the public transport team on parking policies, ground access to airports and travel plans. Professor Roger Mackett will be giving a seminar on 'Concessionary bus travel: Liberation for older people or burden for the taxpayer?' on 30th October at 11.00am.
